What is a coach?
When defining coaching, it's useful to think of the other kind of coach: a vehicle. As with the 16th-century origin of the word as a means of conveyance from one village to another, as a coach I take my clients on metaphorical journey and facilitate them in reaching an education or career destination. What is coaching?
Still not sure what I mean by coaching? Take a look at the definitions below which all reflect the kind of coaching I offer through transformEd coaching.

-
"Coaching is unlocking people's potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them." (Whitmore)
-
‘"Put simply, coaching is a conversation, or series of conversations, that one person has with another. What makes the conversation different from others is the impact that conversation has on the person being coached (the coachee)." (Starr)
-
"A coach is a person who helps me to think through how to get from where I am to where I need to be.." (Joy & Pask)
-
"Coaching is the art of facilitating another person’s learning, development and performance. Through coaching, people are able to find their own solutions, develop their own skills and change their own behaviours and attitudes." (Gilbert & Whittleworth)
